Effects of Magnetic Fields of Extremely Low Frequency and Direct Current on Arteriolar Vasomotion

In order to clarify the activity of magnetic fields on their frequency against the body, inhibitory activity against vasomotion of mouse skin arterioles was observed using a intravital-microscope after exposing the mouse whole body to 0.46 mT magnetic fields of extremely low frequency (ELF-MF: 25, 50 and 100 Hz) and direct current (DC-MF) which are approximately 10 times as strong as terrestrial magnetism. No inhibitory activity was observed in ELF-MF at 25 Hz though the activity was clearly observed in ELF-MF at 50 Hz and DC-MF. Only weak inhibitory activity was found in ELF-MF at 100 Hz.
